Redgap House

Project details

Project: Redgap House
Client: Private

Redgap Road, Redgap, County Dublin, Ireland

Private House Sector

Key Features

Hybrid Load-Bearing Structure:

The project's structural framework utilizes a hybrid combination of load-bearing masonry and steel, achieving a balance between stability and design flexibility.

Cantilever Engineering:

A standout engineering feat was the creation of a 6m cantilever to the rear of the structure.

Deflections were meticulously controlled to ensure the successful operation of the leading folding door system, adding a modern touch to the design.

Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) Management:

The site's location on the side of a hill posed challenges in managing surface water runoff during heavy rain events. Through careful tracking of the water flow and collaboration with local authorities, a strategic SUDS strategy, including attenuation/soakaway, was developed to address the unique drainage needs.

Client Collaboration and Repeat Engagements:

This project marked the beginning of a successful collaboration with the client.

Subsequent to this venture, we have worked together on several more projects, reflecting the satisfaction and trust established through our initial engagement.
