This transformative project involved the partial demolition of a 1980s dwelling, paving the way for an extensive renovation to create a modern and contemporary extension. The structural framework adopted a hybrid approach, combining load-bearing masonry and steel. A standout challenge included the creation of a 6m cantilever to the rear, with meticulous deflection control to ensure the seamless operation of the leading folding door system. Managing Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) presented another significant challenge, given the site's location on the side of a hill, prone to water runoff during heavy rain events. Careful coordination with local authorities and strategic water diversion solutions were key aspects of the project.

The project's structural framework utilizes a hybrid combination of load-bearing masonry and steel, achieving a balance between stability and design flexibility.

A standout engineering feat was the creation of a 6m cantilever to the rear of the structure.
Deflections were meticulously controlled to ensure the successful operation of the leading folding door system, adding a modern touch to the design.

The site's location on the side of a hill posed challenges in managing surface water runoff during heavy rain events.
Through careful tracking of the water flow and collaboration with local authorities, a strategic SUDS strategy, including attenuation/soakaway, was developed to address the unique drainage needs
